BCN Business Angels, an investment network formed by a private and independent group of investors and Family Office, was founded in 2003 and specialises in investment in recently established companies to encourage their growth. Its objective is to place potential investors in contact with projects or entrepreneurs who are seeking finance (and management of their growth).
BCN Business Angels receives the projects of start-ups, filters them according to network criteria, and subsequently presents them to investors via Investment Forums or personalised sectoral meetings. BCN Business Angels provides support in evaluation, negotiation, shareholders’ agreements and monitoring of investment. It provides training both for entrepreneurs and for investors. It advises entrepreneurs on the business model, the viability of their project, presenting the project to investors, PowerPoint presentations, executive summaries and business plans. It seeks scalable start-ups, with tested business models and a multidisciplinary team to present to investors.
In 2014 it started the Family Angels line for companies that have been operating for 5 years with a turnover of €5 to 50 million and created a roll of honour for advice and investment in them. It covers investment rounds of up to €500,000. Since 2003, it has invested €14 million in 20 companies, has run 81 Forums and has analysed 1,400 projects.
