The CVC is a not-for-profit research centre with its own legal status that was founded in 1995 by the Government of Catalonia and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Its mission is to perform ground-breaking research in the field of computer vision to yield the highest international impact. It also promotes the transfer of knowledge to industry and to society. Lastly, it strives to prepare and train top-level European researchers. The CVC has now become a specialist in the field of computer vision and is considered a benchmark in the creation of knowledge for society.
